The Advantages of Going to Church

There are several reasons to go to church. You may not even realize that you are doing it but that doesn’t mean you are not.

First, we do not have the luxury of time to spend with our friends or family that we like. To some, this may sound trivial but in this world where all things are fleeting, the time we spend with our loved ones is just as important as anything else we do. We spend more of our precious lives than we know trying to find new ways to entertain ourselves and meet new people.

Second, there is a sense of community that comes along with going to church.

While each church is different in its focus, it is comforting knowing that we are part of something larger. Even if there are no special services, there is a sense of community and fun that comes along with going to church. Going to church will give you a little more opportunity to be social with your neighbors, colleagues, and family.

Third, and probably the most important reason, going to church to teach you what God has done for you. I suppose it is as simple as it sounds.

It seems like a foreign idea that you could belong to a religious institution or denomination. It seems, in fact, like an odd form of community living.

It’s time to stop living in the past.

It’s time to consider whether a church is a good thing for you or if you are just going through the motions.

The idea of going to church is something that can bring us to the time of day when we could choose to simply stay home and not go to church. In that sense, going to church may just be a waste of time. It may not be the same.

If you want to keep going, then let’s do it. What makes you go to church is not the formalities of the service, but the social aspect. It’s not just about the music, but the fellowship of those who are going to enjoy the music and fellowship together.

I know that many people struggle with trying to maintain a personal relationship with God. They may not want to risk the chance of going to hell for not being in church. If that is a concern, maybe it is time to try a few of the reasons to go to church.
